Supply List for Incoming 6th Grade Students
Dear Sixth Grade Parent/Guardian and Student,
We hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer. Believe it or not, the 2026-2027 school year will be here before you know it. We look forward to seeing all of you and to a great school year to come.
The Sixth Grade team would like to recommend supplies to purchase for the upcoming year to help your son or daughter become more organized.
These are only recommendations; they are not mandatory and are simply effective ways to be successful in 6th Grade.
Recommended Supplies for 6th Grade
General Supplies for all subjects include…index cards, pencils, highlighters, hole reinforcements, glue sticks, colored pencils/crayons, homework folder, erasers, earbuds/headphones (to keep in school), and loose-leaf paper.
In addition, the following supplies will be helpful for these specific classes…
Math - yellow notebook, dry-erase markers and erasers, and pencils
Science - Green ½ inch 3-ring binder
Social Studies - Blue ½ inch 3-ring binder
ELA - 2-subject notebook
Pencils, erasers, and a homework folder are necessary for all classes. Classroom donations for pencils and tissues would be greatly appreciated. Students should not bring gel pens, permanent markers, scissors, candy/gum, toys, or electronic devices. Students will be required to use a lock for their locker. The district will provide the lock. If the district lock is lost, a five-dollar fee will be charged to secure another lock. All students will receive a planner book to record assignments.
Birthday Treats - To focus on instructional time and ensure the safety of all students with allergies, we recommend not bringing treats for birthday celebrations. As a school, we will acknowledge birthdays during our morning announcements, and students will receive a snack coupon to celebrate their birthday.
Water bottles - We encourage water bottles to be no larger than 18 oz, with secure lids and no straws. This will help prevent spills and ensure that students can stay hydrated throughout the day. Only water is permitted in the bottles.
The complete dress code policy is available on the district website (www.panthervalley.org) for your review. Please read it carefully to ensure your child will be in compliance when he/she returns to school in August.
Please mark your calendars for our Open House on Thursday, August 20th, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. More information will be posted about open house procedures as we get closer to the date.
If you have any questions, please call me. I look forward to working with you to provide your child with the best educational opportunities during the 2026-2027 school year.
Sincerely,
Lisa Mace
Intermediate School Principal
